Carter is growing like crazy. He had his 18 month appointment and is in the 90th percentile for height! The doctor said he's well on his way to being a good 6'5" or so. He's attempting to speak more and got "turkey" down really well over Thanksgiving. In fact, he refuses to call chicken anything but turkey now. Oh well. He's into everything, especially all Landon's baby gear as you'll see in the pictures below. He's also constantly figuring out ways around gates and everything else that's baby-proofed, much to my dismay. He also started nursery this month and loves it! He got rave reviews by the nursery leaders and is much happier playing with other kids and toys than sitting in relief society with me!
If Carter's growing fast, Landon is speeding by! At 2 1/2 months, he's HUGE now!! He's right around 12 lbs and has cheeks so chubby they sit directly on his chest. He's such a content, happy baby and is, thankfully, super easy! He's reaching all his milestones, rolling over at 6 weeks and smiling at 7 weeks. He and Carter love each other so much! Carter is constantly giving him hugs and kisses, helping burp him, wanting to hold him, and getting up in his face saying, "hi hi hi". Landon loves it, too! He smiles really big at his brother and doesn't mind that he's a little rough. In fact, once Carter got in his face with his "hi hi hi" 's and Landon was just smiling so big...then when Carter walked away he started screaming! I hope they'll be this close growing up. They're such great kids! Now if only Landon could sleep more at night we'd be set!
One anecdote to share: About a week ago we had a huge windstorm here. Both boys had really bad colds, and Carter's had turned into croup again. The power went out in the middle of the night and it was freezing! Carter woke up screaming and panicky because it was so dark and cold and he could hardly breathe, so we brought him into bed with us for the 1st time. He actually did really well but we didn't get much sleep...I didn't get any! It was nice to have him want to cuddle with us but he was so sweaty and hogged the bed really badly...plus Landon was up every 2 hours to eat. It was a horrible night and we're not going to repeat that anytime soon! It's experiences like this that make me realize that yes, I'm officially a parent.
Other recent news: Tyler recently got released from his calling as Young Men's leader. It's nice to have him around on Sunday mornings and would be nice to seem him at home more often if his hectic work schedule didn't cancel that out. We also recently found a new place to live! We'll be moving up to a 3 bedroom duplex in Lynnwood the middle of next month. We're excited to have a garage, a yard, and only share one wall with our neighbors. It will be really good for our family but we'll miss our friends in Fairwood so much! The commute will be about the same as it is from here, just in the opposite direction. We're dreading packing and moving, but excited to be in a bigger space for the boys.
I'll do another post later this week about Christmas, but for now here's the pictures from the last month or so.
