Reno Trip

A couple weeks ago, Carter and I decided to leave Tyler for a few weeks and head out to Reno! Most of my brothers/sisters-in-law were all converging on my parents' house, so we decided to join the party! We had a great time seeing Carter's great-grandparents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Carter even got to meet his uncle Don (coming all the way from Africa) for the first time. The trip was a lot of fun, but I decided we're NOT traveling without Tyler again...especially while I'm so pregnant! I was completely worn out most of the time, but it was worth it to let Carter get in some fun family time.

*WARNING* Below is a TON of pictures!! My mom took around 1000 and I narrowed it down from there, but was too tired to edit them down even more for the blog, so I just included all my keepers. I know most of you will not be interested in so many pictures, so feel free to just scroll down quickly if you want ;) I'll include all the thing we did in captions under the pictures.

Carter playing with Great-Grandma

Carter and Uncle Jared

Carter's Aunt Stacey and Cousin Cohen (Cohen was so cute the whole time, he kept calling Carter "Cousin Carter")

We started off trying the kiddie pool...Carter really does love water, but he hates cold water! He was pretty miserable until he got used to it.

Cohen and Uncle Don having a water fight

Hanging out on the patio (Stacey, Jared, me, Carter, Grandpa, and Don)

Great-Grandma showing Carter the dominoes

Great-Grandma Susie got both Carter and Cohen nice snuggly blankets

Cohen and Carter outside playing with the sidewalk chalk

Carter and Uncle Don

Hanging out in the family room...Grandma was showing Cohen how a "film" camera works since it'll be an antique in a few years ;)

Cohen and Carter playing together...they did pretty well unless Carter decided to touch Cohen...he didn't like that too much ;)

Snuggle time with Cohen and Aunt Stacey

The majority of the family that came (Alie and Mariah came after everyone else left)
(Back row: Grandma Cyndi, Great-Grandma, Carter, me, Aunt Stacey
Front row: Grandpa, Great-Grandpa, Uncle Don, Uncle Jared, Cohen)

We brought the kids to Chuck E Cheese's...Carter was pretty unsure about the animatronics (those singing character thingies)

Carter and Grandpa waiting for pizza

Pizza time! May I just say Carter ate more on this trip then EVER before...and as soon as we got home he started eating like a bird

Trying out some of the rides...he wasn't too sure about this one

It took him a bit to warm up, but he ended up LOVING these cars! He got in and immediately started turning the wheel like he was driving. He went on this ride several times.

Again, a little unsure at first, but he ended up loving it

Helping Carter play whack-a-mole (well, they were sharks in this case...)

Meeting Chuck E Cheese! First he gave him high 5, but then....

he just tried to push him away

Carter with his Grandpa and Great-Grandpa

Cohen saw me playing "trot little pony" with Carter and he wanted to do it too

Grandma playing with the boys

Me with my little niece Mariah...and can I tell you what a good baby she is??? I've never seen a more content, easier baby in my life!

Carter and Mariah playing. Can you see how bad Carter's face is? His eczema really broke out badly on his face in the Nevada dryness

Trying to share

Carter kept trying to pull off her bow

Cute cousins

Carter always wanted to touch Mariah, but he did a good job of being gentle most of the time

He was trying to show Mariah her nose (we play "Mommy's nose, Carter's nose")

Aunt Alie and Mariah in the pool

Carter liked the pool much better this time because it was REALLY warm

Carter kept trying to hold Mariah's hand

Splashing and grabbing for her hand again

He LOVED his cousin!

Practicing kicking

Cuddles for Mom

...and kisses for my baby Carter!

Carter got much better at walking on this trip! He spent most of his time wandering the house and walking up and down the hallway. Tyler was shocked at how much better his walking was by the time we came home.

I swear he was ALWAYS wanting to touch her! Being "gentle" with her head this time ;)

A completely un-prompted hug...so cute!!!!

...and the hug went a little too far ;)

They were so interested in each other!

Grandma with Mariah and Carter

Carter loved that car...I remember playing with it when I was little

Taking a little walk with Grandpa

Cute little Mariah (7 mos)

Grandma playing with the babies

Grandpa "getting" Carter

Carter...there's something on your head!

He loves to get things off his head

Reading with Grandpa

More play time with Mariah

Me and Mariah

Carter showing his toy to Aunt Alie...it was this horribly annoying singing Christmas dog, but he loved it and would carry it around everywhere!

We really had a great trip! It was so nice to be able to get home, though. Carter missed his Daddy like crazy (every day he'd say "Dad" over and over) and so did I! We've spent this last week at home recuperating.

Tyler also got to go on his high adventure trip this last weekend with a couple of the Young Men. They went camping and white water rafting and had a great time!! However, between us being in Reno and Tyler going to high adventure, I decided I'm really not cut out for the single mom thing. We're looking forward to our trip to California together in a few more weeks to see the other side of the family!
