Fun with the Grandparents!

Phase 3: July 9-July 16

In the middle of July we were lucky to be visited by Tyler's parents! They took a road trip first to here, then to Coeur d'Alene to see Jamie, then off to Ty's step-sister Taylor's graduation in Rexburg, and finally to Vegas. We were so excited to see them! The boys had a blast with their grandparents. We did lots of fun things like going to the Children's Museum in Everett, going to see Thomas the Train (we couldn't get tickets to go on him but we got to spot him through the fence and be right close up as he went by), and going to Snoqualmie Falls. The kids loved spending time with their grandparents. One night Grandpa Dan took Carter for a little walk down the street collecting rocks, just the two of them. It's moments like that that our kids will treasure as they get older...granted, Carter's just 2, but I think he'll remember that bond more than anything. Their visit made us really wish that we lived closer to family. Sometimes I feel like I'm depriving my children of their grandparents living so far away. We love Washington, and I'd love to stay here forever, but we wish our kids had their grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins close by. Maybe one day I can utilize my convincing skills and get someone to move up by us!

Pictures as usual:

At the Children's Museum. Dan carried Landon around most of the time which was good because he got him involved in the different exhibits. If I had him I probably would have just held him the whole time thinking he was too little. I'm glad Grandpa was more interactive because Landon had a blast!

Carter flying the airplane...such a cool cockpit!

Whenever I tell Carter to smile for the camera he squints his eyes and gives me that exact look. Ok, thanks Carter :)

Dancing time! You could stand in front of the screen and it would project your body heat onto the screen and you could watch your silhouette move around as you did.

Carter driving the bus! He had to wait a really long time for his turn as one kid was hogging it. However, Carter was watching him pretty carefully and saw him talking into the microphone. When it was finally Carter's turn he got that microphone and loudly "talked" into it in his jarbled Carter language. It was hilarious!

Carter on the tractor with Grandma

Who said he's too little to drive a tractor??

Up on the roof was a seriously cool outdoor play place. It's usually closed since we live in Washington and it's always raining, but it was actually open this time! The kids loved it.

There were some cool musical instruments to play

...and an archeological dig where you could find dinosaur bones!

Thomas the Train! The only reason Carter even knows who Thomas is is because he's on his toothpaste tube ;)

Behind the fence since we weren't cool enough to be able to get tickets ;)

I wanted a picture of everyone with Thomas but only Tyler looked at the camera...oh well.

Snoqualmie Falls

Carter perked up when I let him wear my sunglasses

He's pretty sure he's so cool ;)
