We're Back to Blogging!

Sooo...did anyone else notice I fell off the blogging train? There came a point about 3 months into my blogging slump that I became too overwhelmed about having to catch up, so I just gave up for a while. But we're back!! And it's time to catch up so...we'll start back 6 months ago (yikes!)

Landon started crawling! A little late, but he finally got it down...unfortunately, at 16 months, that's STILL all he does! We gotta get this kid walking!

The boys finally discovered it's more fun playing together than playing all by yourself. It's also a lot of fun to put things on top of your brother's head ;)

Landon was really excited about...something...

Carter ate some yummy ribs...

...and got in all sorts of trouble...look at that guilty face! I'd caught him after he'd stolen the snacks and was feeding them to his brother in the hallway.

We had lots of time to play outside in the beautiful weather! Carter worked a LOT around this time so we'd play outside in the evenings waiting for Daddy to come home.

Landon discovered the bliss of the slide...

...and the splendor of a lazy evening lying in the hammock.

For a while Carter felt the need to show Landon his dominance, so he'd randomly go up to him and lay on top of him. At first it was cute and looked like he was hugging his brother, but when he'd just lay there limply for a few minutes and make Nani scream it wasn't so cute anymore.

Landon also started scaling along the furniture!

We are so lucky to be able to live in Washington, so close to so many lakes, beaches, and beautiful scenery. Here we were in Mukilteo at the Lighthouse park (the beach is on the Puget Sound). Carter had a blast throwing all the rocks on the beach into the water.

Seaweed is always fun.

A friend of mine gave me these "Cars" pants she'd made for her son that he'd grown out of. They're really more pajama pants but Carter is OBSESSED with them! (This was even before the "Cars" movie obsession) If it were up to him he would wear these all day every day. Luckily he has a mother who doesn't let him leave the house like this ;)

We decided to dabble in potty training one morning since Carter had successfully gone pee in the potty several times. He was ready, but after one accident I decided I'd have enough and didn't want to keep cleaning up the floor! So we put potty training on hold for a few months after only an hour of trying. But he was pretty proud of his big boy underwear!

We have a really nice lake just around the corner from our house and we brought the boys swimming there a few times. Neither of the boys were too thrilled with the water. Landon was cold and Carter was terrified of dying or something, but they had fun in the sand and we had fun spending time as a family!

In September we met some of Tyler's friends from work at the Puyallup Fair. It's the biggest fair in Washington and it was a blast!! Carter got to see a fire truck.

There were some cool mega-bubble-blowers.

We saw pigs...

...and tractors...

...and cows!

Carter and Tyler got to ride on the train ride. Carter loves trains and LOVED it!!

Carter's friend wanted to go on this dragon roller coaster ride, so I asked Carter if he wanted to go too. He was so excited and couldn't stop squealing with delight as we got him strapped in to the front seat. Unfortunately, as soon as the ride started going the squealing turned into blood curdling screaming of terror! And for some reason the ride operator wouldn't stop the ride even though all the spectators were pointing out the kid who was clearly being traumatized! The worst part was when they finally slowed the ride down like it was about to stop...and then let them go for another round! That just about did poor Carter in. Yes, I'm a horrible mother for doing that to my baby...apparently he's not quite the thrill seeker at the ripe old age of 2 ;)

Ahh the car ride...so much less action packed! Carter loved this one and was very serious as he "drove" his car around the track.

Carter also went on the Merry-Go-Round. I'm not sure what I was thinking...he hated the roller coaster but all kids like the Merry-Go-Round, right? Apparently not. Yet another moment of screaming in terror!

And, a rare moment of Landon cuddling. I'm guessing he was probably sick in this picture!

We had a great August/September and looking at these pictures again makes me look forward to the warm and sunny Seattle summers in the midst of these cold, rainy, dark winters.

Here's a couple of videos!
