As you can tell, Grandma's not in too many of the pictures because she's typically behind the camera. We also went to the train museum in Sacramento with them. Carter loves trains and this was a really cool museum! We all had a great time.
Grandpa had to head home after that but Grandma stayed a while longer. She helped us throw Carter a big Cars themed birthday party with some of his friends. It was a blast and Carter was thrilled with his friends and his party. We had a big ball pit, lots of bubbles and squirt guns outside, and snacks galore. I also made a pretty rockin' Cars cake. I'm the least artistic/creative person I know, so for me this was a HUGE accomplishment!
And thus...Carter somehow got 3 birthday parties. What a ridiculously lucky little kid!
While Grandma was still there we snuck off to Las Vegas to meet our friends Tara and Marcellus for a few days. Of course...I took no pictures. Typical me. But we had a BLAST. We ate tons of good food and lots of buffets. We also went to the Excalibur Tournament of Kings show. It was really cool! I discovered, however, that my allergies to horses has gotten quite severe. Only about halfway through the show I started to have an asthma attack, so I guess even being farther away from horses is out of the question for me anymore. We had tons of fun playing games, walking the strip, and swimming. We ended up staying at the Excalibur the first night and then a resort called the Green Valley Resort in Henderson for the rest of the time. I'd DEFINITELY recommend that place! It was amazing!!
The best part about our trip was when Tara and I went to The Price is Right, Live! show at Harrah's. I've always been a huge fan of The Price is Right and it's been a lifelong dream of mine to go on the show, so this was a close second. It's basically a Vegas version of the show, really similar but just a little lower budget. Anyways, at the very last bid I heard my name..."JoAnne Wallo...COME ON DOWN!" I jumped up and screamed! I'm pretty sure I skipped down the aisle. Then we had to bid on a Kindle. I bid $99 and won! I ran up on stage doing some crazy skip/kick thing and gave Drew Lachey a hug (he was the host). Then I heard, "You get to play Plinko!" I had 4 prizes where I had to guess if the first or last number was right to get chips. I got 3/4 right and ended up with 4 chips (they gave me one for free). The slots looked like this from the top: 50/100/200/0/500/0/200/100/50. Well, I ended up getting one 0, two 200's, and a 500 meaning I left with $900 and a kindle!! It was incredible!! The whole thing was seriously like an out-of-body experience. I filled out some paperwork at the end, went to the cashier, and they handed me $900 just like that. Suffice it to say, we had a great time in Vegas and our trip ended much too soon.
It was great to come back and see our boys. We'd really missed them and Grandma was ready for a break! Here's some of the other pictures she took:
The boys helping Tyler change the oil in the car
Carter loved helping Daddy wash the cars!
Grandma finally got a picture taken of her!
We had so much fun with the grandparents here! We miss you guys and the boys would love you to come visit anytime :)
